CTC Swale is a member group of Cycling UK, the largest organisation in the country for cyclists with over 60.000 members.
The aim of the club is to provide a range of cycling activities for cyclists of all abilities.
Our ride leaders put on a full programme of rides at weekends and evening pub runs in the summer. Just turn up at the start and join in - there's no need to be a CTC member initally.
The distances range from 10 to 70 miles. This may sound daunting to new cyclists but within a few rides you will be surprised at how quickly you become a lot fitter.
Cycling is an ideal activity for young and old as well as those with special needs.
We can provide advice on the type of cycle to buy within your chosen budget. Remember for less than the average yearly gym membership you can buy an excellent cycle which will give you years of fun and enjoyment.
Within 10 minutes of leaving any of the towns in Swale you can be in glorious countryside heading out towards the coast or inland towards Canterbury or over the downs into the Weald.
We allow plenty of time to stop and look and enjoy refreshments in local cafés, pubs etc.
We would like to invite you to come along and try out a few rides at no cost, if you then wish to carry on we would ask you to join CTC, to find out more about the benefits of CTC visit www.ctc.org.uk
What do you need to come along? Well, a bike of course, some comfortable clothing, doesn't have to be Lycra! and, if you wish, some food and drink (especially in summer) although stops will be made at either a café or a pub.
Don't worry if you have any problems such as a puncture - the group will wait and there is always someone able to give a hand.
If you have questions or queries on anything to do with the club, then please get in touch.
We are a very friendly club and we hope you will enjoy riding with us.
